If your ideal home is bright, spacious and filled with design classic furniture then you’re going to love this apartment. If I had a spare 240k knocking around and a job offer in Belgium I’d be buying this place without a second thought.

Located within walking distance of Antwerp’s historic centre, the apartment inside a stately mansion designed by Jos Goeyvaerts in 1912 and boasts a seemingly perfect blend of Art Nouveau and Modernism.

The open plan layout, large windows, white walls and 3.7m high ceiling combine to create the bright and spacious living area dreams are made of. Natural wooden elements such as the blinds and design classic pieces from Vitra (including an Eames Leg Splint and LCM lounge chair) along with original dark floorboards add warmth to the minimal space.

The apartment is being sold with the option to include the furniture, an no brainer in my opinion. Some of the pieces are amongst my all time favourites – the Louis Poulsen PH5 Pendant light in the living area, the selection of fiberglass Eames dining chairs and Saarinen Tulip side table in the dining area to name but a few.

I recently caught up with the owner / seller of this property for a blog post over at Utility Design. If you’re interested in finding out about his design inspirations and plans for his new residence, you can read the interview here.
